New Recruits

EdgeFiller has now hired two new PhD students to work within the project.

AnthonyAnthony Impellizzeri (IMN Nantes)
Anthony obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Physics at Catania University in Italy, specialising in Theoretical Nanoelectronics, before performing his Masters project at DTU Nanotech in Denmark, in the Theoretical Nanoelectronics Group.  He has joined the IMN Nantes group to work on atomic-scale computational modelling of collapsed (and filled) carbon nanotubes.  Amongst his hobbies he was a European Kung-Fu champion and enjoys playing tennis.

Training School in Carbon Nanoscience

Chris Ewels (IMN Nantes) and Anthony Impellizzeri (IMN Nantes) both participated in the summer school “Frontier research on 2D materials”, organised by the GDR and GDR-I “graphene and co”, supported by the CNRS. The training was held in the scientific institute of Cargese (Corsica, France), April 2-13, 2018.  Dr Ewels gave courses on point and line defects in 2D layered materials.  Many thanks to the organisers for a fascinating and enjoyable event!
